Have Confidence, Even Through the Hard Stuff

I love the work that I get to do. I love when I see my prints in someone’s home, when I get a wedding invitation or Christmas card or party invitation I designed in the mail, every time an Etsy order notification shows up on my phone, every time I see a senior portrait or a family photo displayed. The list goes on. The creative side of my job is a source of J•O•Y for me.

But then there are the spreadsheets and the bookkeeping and the taxes. The orders damaged during shipping. Every once in a while, an unhappy customer to deal with. The government forms and P&L sheets and all the business things. I don’t love any of that. I want to ignore it. Pretend like it’s not there. Except that I can’t. But I CAN surround myself with really smart business people to help me with it.

Having a side hustle has never been easy, but I believe that when you find something you love to do, you do the hard stuff. Over the last nine years that Sandra Alyce Creative has existed, I’ve learned that doing the hard stuff is worth it. I’ve seen my business grow, and I’ve seen the results of my work. 🧡
