Happy Friday, friends! It’s Friday, right? Does anyone even know anymore?
Transparency time: I have been in a MOOD this week. Because I’m tired of being stuck at home. Tired of things not being normal. Tired of not being able to go out to eat, get my nails done, go to the beach, go to church, see my friends, send my kids to school. Especially send my kids to school!
Yesterday was just not good. My attitude sucked. I didn’t want to do anything. I was antagonistic and snarky. I couldn’t pull myself out of it. I felt like this dark cloud was hovering over my head all day. ⛈
Late last night as I was sitting at my desk, I came across this quote by Maya Angelou. It was a wake up call. Because it’s true. There is not a thing I can do about the circumstances right now. We’re all in the same basic boat. We all want to get back to normal. We’re all missing out on things we want to be doing.
But I can change my attitude. And I need to. Because if I keep the bad one I had yesterday, it’s just going to make me and those around me miserable. I need to think of all the things I’m grateful for: my family’s health, a job I can do from home, time to work on this side hustle, a slower pace, rest, time to run, slow walks with my kids, walks with friends, FaceTime calls with my sister, my back porch, movie nights ... the list goes on.
So that’s my challenge to myself and to you: Choose to focus on what we can change. If we can’t change our circumstances, let’s change our attitudes.🧡
