Continuous Improvement, Not Delayed Perfection

SACS QUOTE 3.3.20.png

I have one of those letter message boards in my home office, and the first message I ever spelled out was “Grace, Not Perfection.” I’ve never changed it.

Sometimes...a lot of times...I get too hung up on wanting everything to be perfect. It’s all about being in control, which is an illusion. When I feel disorganized and like things are out of control, it affects my attitude and my interactions with people.

This Mark Twain quote struck me today. It’s all about small steps forward, getting better little by little, day by day. Setting goals and working towards them. That’s much more productive than demanding perfection. So that’s what I’ll work on...continuous improvement at work, in my business, in my parenting, in my relationship with Christ and my family and my friends, with my health. 🧡
